To what degree can a picture frame be customized?
We can create a frame that is completely suited to your personal tastes. We have over 2,000 frame samples, from local distributors to frames made in Italy. We stock thousands of mating options in a huge array of colors and materials, including: suede, linen, leather and textured mats. We have a variety of protective glass options which are also available in acrylic (plexi-glass). We have an electronic mat cutter, so we can cut names, numbers, letters and certain logos to customize your piece to suit your needs.

What is the best way to frame an original painting?
People often bring us artwork from all around the world because we offer museum quality framing. We use strictly acid-free materials to preserve the piece, along with all the protective glass options.

I have a valuable painting how should I frame it?
It depends on what it is. If it's on canvas, it will first need to be stretched so that it's taut. We then will cut and join an interior frame, which are called Strainer Bars. Canvases need air movement, so you never want to encase them in glass. You never want to use mats on a canvas, because without glass, the mats will be exposed and will warp. If the piece is on paper, we recommend using preservation hinging. This entails attaching the painting to acid-free foamboard using conservation corner pockets or a rice hinge. This is a non-permanent way of mounting a painting. We use acid - free matting to prevent the glass from laying directly on the piece, which can harm it over time. In this way, it is both aesthetically pleasing, but also protects the piece from the elements.

Some people have clear idea of what they want, and we help educate them about the best way to preserve and enhance the artwork. Others may not have an eye for color or design, or maybe they can't conceptualize what the piece will look like. For them, we have Visualization Software, which enables us to take a picture of the art, and build the matting and the frame around it, so they can see what the finished piece will look like in advance. How long will it take for me to get my framed picture?
Our typical turn - around is 7-10 business days, which is fast for our industry. We do precise, museum quality work, and that can take time. If you need your piece sooner than our normal turn-around, accommodations can be made. However, certain rush fees may apply.
